How the Trail Began

It all kicked off at GAMA Expo 2025, where Monica Hagy orchestrated a spontaneous get-together of event managers that sparked some big ideas. What started as casual networking quickly turned into brainstorming about a bold new board game circuit, linking regional conventions across Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana. The goal? To spark excitement about each others’ shows, build lasting recognition, and craft tournaments that are as fun as they are memorable.

Over the next several months the Trail Blazers collaborated, networked, and pitched, building an experience they hope attendees will enjoy.

What started out as a networking event has grown into an adventure, connecting regional gaming communities and bringing a fresh, exciting spin to board game tournaments.
